Similar to a Bar or Bat Mitzvah in the Jewish faith or Confirmation in Catholicism, a Quinceanera is both a religious and festive occasion, celebrated around a Hispanic girl's 15th birthday. After a religious component of the event, friends and family members gather to honor the Quinceanera girl. Let guests know about the upcoming party and be sure to get the date on their calendar by preparing custom-designed Quinceanera invitations.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine the Quinceanera theme for the overall event. While themes are not required, using the same colors (such as pink and purple) or icons (such as hearts or glitter) on the invitation will get invitees in the party mood.

    • 2

Choose the Quinceanera court to assist the Quinceanera girl. This usually consists of 29 people: 14 "damas" (like bridesmaids), 14 "chambelans" (groomsmen) and one escort for the Quinceanera girl, which may be her father or older relative. Quinceanera court names often go on the invitation, so knowing these in advance will help with the invitation design.

    • 3

Select a computer program to create the actual invitation, such as Microsoft Publisher or InDesign, which are desktop publishing programs, or Microsoft Word, a word processing program. Other options include graphics programs such as Windows Paint, Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop.

    • 4

Check whether the selected computer program offers preset invitation templates; this will save setup time. Templates are completely customizable with Quinceanera wording. Add the picture, text, colors and any other design elements to the invitation.

    • 5

Take a photograph of the Quinceanera girl in her Quinceanera dress or other fancy gown and tiara. Scan in the photo or open it electronically to add to the invitation.

    • 6

Select the waltz or dance the Quinceanera girl and court will perform to and add it to the invitation, such as "Please join us as Consuela and her court perform "Tiempo de Vals."

    • 7

Save the invitation to the computer and print at home or take the files to a print shop to print on thick paper, metallic foil or specialty card stock.
