DVR Digital Box Won't Change Channels Easily
A digital video recorder (DVR) is used to record video programming from your cable or satellite provider. In fact, the DVR is typically built right into the receiver box. If, however, the receiver is not changing stations accurately, you need to troubleshoot the situation. Typically, this is a minor issue you are able to correct in a moment or two, as the problem lies with the signal being given by the remote control.
Instructions

1
Change out the batteries on the DVR's remote control. If the batteries are beginning to fail, the DVR is not going to change the station when requested.
-
2
Move the DVR into clear view. If it is hidden by devices or just pushed into the back of the entertainment center, the DVR is not going to receive the signal from the remote control.
-
-
3
Clean off the tip of the DVR remote control with a damp cloth, then do the same with the signal receiver on the DVR. If either is dirty, the signal is not going to reach the DVR.
-
4
Contact your cable/satellite provider. You may have a defective DVR. If this is the case, you are usually given a replacement DVR free of charge (as you are already paying for the service).
