How to Put Flags on Apple iCal
ICal is a calendar application that is a built-in component of the Mac OS X operating system. ICal allows you to create events and to track these events in multiple views. In addition, you can flag the events and then search events by their particular flag.

Open the iCal program on your Mac computer.

Click the "+" symbol located in the lower-left corner of the iCal window to create a new flag.

Right-click the new flag from the subsection "On My Mac" on the left-hand side of the iCal Window. Type a name for your flag.

Double-click an event in the calendar and then click "Edit." Select the "Calendar" option and then select the flag you want to use for this event. Click "Done." Repeat for all events in iCal you want to flag.

Tips & Warnings
To search events by flag, place a check mark next to the flag you want to search for in the "On my Mac" subsection, on the left-hand side of the iCal window. To search for only one flag, remove the check mark from other flags in this section.
