How to Clean Mini Aluminum Window Blinds

Aluminum mini blinds provide superior room darkening and privacy, while adding a touch of style to a room. Dirt, dust and tobacco smoke can build up on aluminum window blinds, ruining their appearance. Unlike wood or vinyl, aluminum blinds resist staining, and can stand up to many cleaners. You can use common household items to clean your aluminum window blinds with little effort.

Things You'll Need

• Vacuum
• 2 socks
• All-purpose cleaner

Instructions

1. Vacuum the aluminum window blinds with a soft brush attachment or portable vacuum. If the blinds are still dirty, consider cleaning them by hand.

2. Dampen a pair of socks with all-purpose cleaner or water.

3. Close the mini blinds, and place the socks over your hands.

4. Place one hand behind the aluminum blinds and one in front. Press your hands together, and run them along the blinds, cleaning one small section at a time.
