How to Change the Region on a Toshiba SDP1600

A portable DVD player allows you to enjoy media wherever you are.

With any and all portable DVD players comes a region setting, determining what type of DVDs will play in the device. If you have purchased a portable DVD player in North America, it is likely that your portable DVD player is set to Region 1. With a few simple steps, you can change this region setting to play DVDs from other countries as well.

Instructions

1. Turn on your Toshiba SD P1600.

2. Open the disc tray, the part of the DVD player that holds the disc.

3. Using your remote, enter in this sequence of numbers: 9,8,7,9. This will direct you to a menu listing an option to change your region.

4. Press "0" to indicate "0 region." This makes the device region free, allowing you to play DVDs from all parts of the world.

5. Close the disc tray.

6. Turn off your DVD player and restart it to test the new region settings.
