How to Check the Ink Cartridge Level on an HP PSC 950 Printer

The HP PSC 950 is an all-in-one inkjet printer. As with other HP brand printers, the HP PSC 950 includes software for use on your computer that supports or provides information about the printer. This software, known as the HP Toolbox, has many tools including an estimated ink level monitoring report tool. Checking the levels for your two ink cartridges---HP Black #15 and HP Tricolor #78---requires that you access this program.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Start" button/icon on your computer. Go to "Programs" or "All Programs" > "Hewlett Packard" or "HP."

    • 2

Click "Toolbox" or "HP Toolbox" on the menu to open the HP Toolbox for your HP PSC 950 printer.

    • 3

Click the "Estimated Ink Levels" tab in the window that opens. If done correctly, you should see images of the black and tricolor cartridges that estimate the approximate ink levels inside the cartridges.

Tips & Warnings

  • The HP Toolbox "Estimated Ink Levels" tab screen also shows the part number for each cartridge to help with ordering replacement cartridges when needed.
