How to Repair DirectX 10
DirectX 10 is an application that consists of application programming interfaces, or APIs, that the operating system uses to handle multimedia-related tasks. DirectX 10 is also an essential component when running video games that use the pixel shader 4.0 technology. DirectX 10 cannot be uninstalled, so the only way to repair any corrupted DirectX 10 files is by replacing them with undamaged copies.

Download the DirectX redistributable package from the Microsoft website (see Resources).

Double-click the downloaded file to run the DirectX setup. If you already have the files necessary to install DirectX 10 saved on your hard disk, enter the folder containing them and double-click the DXSETUP file.

Accept the DirectX user agreement and click the "Next" button twice. The DirectX setup will automatically replace all DirectX 10 files on your computer. Click "Finish" to complete repairing DirectX 10.
