How to Remove the News Crawl in AOL Toolbar on Firefox

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) installs toolbars for Firefox when you install it. Although some find the AOL news ticker useful, others find it clutters their browsers. Firefox makes it easy to remove unwanted toolbars from your Internet browser.

Instructions

1. Open your Firefox browser.

2. Click "Tools," and "Add-ons" from the top menu.

3. Click the "Extensions" tab and locate the AOL toolbar you want to remove. Click "Uninstall," and "Uninstall" again to remove the toolbar. Restart Firefox to complete the process.

4. Uninstall using the Windows Control Panel if the first method does not work. Click "Start," and "Control Panel." Find "Programs and Features," and select the AOL toolbar from the list of programs. Right-click to uninstall the toolbar.
