How to Setup XP Home for VPN Incoming
If you want to connect to a host computer in your home or office, you can create a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection. With the Windows XP Home Edition operating system running on your computer, you can establish a VPN connection using the Network Connection Wizard application. In order to set up the connection, it is important to know the IP address of the host computer that you want to connect with. With access to both the host and client computers, you can set XP Home for an incoming VPN connection.

Click the "Start" button from the Windows XP Home Edition desktop, and then click the "Control Panel" option.

Double-click the "Network Connections" option, and then click the "Create a new connection" option. The "Network Connection Wizard" dialog box will appear.

Click the "Next" button. Select the "Connect to the network at my workplace" option. Click the "Next" button.

Click the "Virtual Private Network connection" option, and then select the "Next" button. Click the "Do not dial the initial connection" option followed by the "Next" button.

Enter a name for the connection, and then click the "Next" button. Enter the IP address of the computer you want to connect with. Click the "Next" button again.

Select the "Anyone's use" option for the connection to be available to anyone who logs into the computer, or select the "My use only" option to make the connection available only to your login credentials.

Click the "Next" button followed by the "Finish" button to complete the VPN setup.
