How to Upload Your Picture to Try on a Hairstyle

Trying out online hairstyles is a way to see if you would look good in a particular style before you actually get your hair cut. It saves you the time and embarrassment of a bad haircut, if it turns out the style isn't for you. You don't even have to buy a hairstyle imaging program, as many websites offer free hairstyles for you to try on once you upload your picture.

Things You'll Need

• Digital camera or webcam

Instructions

1. Take a picture of yourself facing the camera straight on and with your hair pulled back so the new hairstyles will fit over your head like a wig. Capture only your head, neck and the top of your shoulders. Upload the picture to your computer if you used a digital camera.

2. Go to a virtual hairstyle website, such as Virtual Hairstyles, Ladies Home Journal Try a Hairstyle or Instyle Hollywood Makeover.

3. Select "Browse" from the "Upload your Picture" selection. Select the picture of your face from the correct folder on your computer and click "Open."

4. Drag and drop hairstyles from the menu onto your head to try them on.
