How to Delete Solitaire From Windows

The Windows Solitaire application becomes strangely compelling during the times when we should be doing work. If you administer a business computer, the Solitaire application may prove to be troublesome in this regard. To increase the amount of productive time on a work computer--or your own computer--you may wish to simply delete Solitaire. Remove the Solitaire application from Windows to prevent access to a game on a computer that is used for work.

Step 1

Click the "Start" button, and then click "Control Panel."

Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" in Windows XP or "Programs and Features" in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Click "Add/Remove Windows Components" in Windows XP or "Turn Windows features on or off" in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Step 4

Click "Accessories and Utilities," and then click "Details" in Windows XP. If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7, skip this step.

Step 5

Remove the check from the "Games" box, and click "OK." Alternatively, if you only want to remove Solitaire, click "Details" after highlighting "Games" in Windows XP, or click the plus sign next to "Games" in Windows Vista and Windows 7. Remove the check from the "Solitaire" box, and click "OK." Click "Next" in Windows XP to finalize your changes. The Solitaire application is removed from the computer.
