How to Customize the Ribbon Bar in Access 2007

The Access 2007 ribbon bar has limited customizations available. This new ribbon was introduced with the Office 2007 Suite. This interface was created so users could click on pictures instead of searching drop-down menus for their Office needs. Customize this ribbon by adjusting its display and modifying the Quick Access Toolbar. You can adjust the ribbon display by minimizing it, and the Quick Access Toolbar can be modified by adding additional shortcuts to this menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Access 2007. Select the "Office" button and click the "Open" icon. Browse your files and locate a database. Click the database and select "Open." The database opens.

    • 2

Click the drop-down arrow on the right side of the Quick Access Toolbar. Click one of the shortcuts. The shortcut appears on the Quick Access Toolbar.

    • 3

Click the drop-down arrow on the right side of the Quick Access Toolbar. Select the option of "Minimize Ribbon." The ribbon is immediately reduced to one line across your Access window. Maximize the ribbon by clicking the drop-down arrow again and select the "Minimize Ribbon" option again.
