How to Use Tea Tree & Lavender Oils to Clean
Pure essential oils are derived from nature and contain no preservatives or additives. Tea tree and lavender oils contain antimicrobial properties that discourage mold and disinfect most surfaces. Unlike toxic chemicals in commercial cleaners, tea tree and lavender oil cleaning solutions are safe around children and pets. Things You'll Need
- Latex gloves
- Plastic container
- 2 cups of hot water
- 1 tsp. borax
- 2 tbsp. white vinegar
- 1/4 tsp. lavender essential oil
- 3 drops tea tree essential oil
- Small metal whisk
- Plastic spray bottle
- Natural sponge
- Warm water
- Soft cloth
- Clean towel

Put on latex gloves to avoid direct contact with the essential oils. Essential oils are highly concentrated and can irritate unprotected skin.

Fill a plastic container with 2 cups of hot water. Add 1 tsp. of borax, 2 tbsp. of white vinegar, 1/4 tsp. of lavender essential oil and three drops of tea tree essential oil to the water. Stir the solution with a small metal whisk to dissolve the oils.

Pour the solution into a plastic spray bottle. Generously spray the solution onto the dirty surface.

Dampen a natural sponge with warm water. Scrub the surface with the damp sponge to loosen the dirt and grime.

Dampen a soft cloth with warm water. Wipe the surface with the damp cloth to rinse off the cleaning solution and grime. Dry the surface with a clean towel.

Tips & Warnings
Do not use the cleaning solution on glass or natural stone surfaces, as they may become damaged.
