How to Update Maps on a Sanyo Easy Street GPS
Updating the Sanyo Easy Street NVM-4370 GPS device provides customers with new information and expanded coverage. The update includes new addresses, roads, housing complexes, points of interest and business addresses. In addition, customers can expect new information related to counties and municipalities not included on previous updates. Updating will cost customers $79.00 for the purchase of the required DVD. When they get it, customers must install the updates on the Sanyo Easy Street GPS device.

Visit the Sanyo corporate website and navigate to the webpage for the Sanyo Easy Street GPS device, listed in the references section of this article. Scroll down until you locate the heading related to map updates. Click on the link provided at the end of the description. This will bring you to the purchase page for the update DVD.

Click on the link "Add to Cart" and begin the purchase process.

Locate the serial number on your device. Accomplish this by looking at the sticker with a ten-digit number printed on it, affixed to the back of the antenna. Input the serial number in the field provided on the screen and click "Continue." Follow the instructions on the screen to complete your purchase. Sanyo will ship the DVD to the address you provide.

Turn on your GPS device, upon getting the DVD you ordered. The "Main Menu" will load automatically.

Slide the battery switch on your GPS device to the "Off" position. Locate the battery switch on the back of your device by turning the back to face you. Look to the far left and you will see the battery switch.

Connect the GPS device to your computer using the USB cable supplied with your GPS device. Slide your battery switch back to the "ON" position. You will see a message on your GPS screen confirming connection.

Put your DVD in the DVD-ROM drive. The installer will load automatically. Select your preference of language when prompted, following the instructions on the screen.

Input your device serial number and DVD license key when prompted. The license key is on the back cover of the installation DVD. Click the "OK" button and the installation process begins automatically. Follow onscreen prompts to finish installation. The procedure will take one hour to complete.

Disconnect the GPS device from your computer by removing the USB cord.
