How to Remove the YouTube Search Bar

When you embed a YouTube video into another web page, you will notice that a search bar hangs over the video at certain times. This is done to promote YouTube and so that users can easily search for other videos from the embedded location. If you want to remove the YouTube search bar, you can do so by amending the embedded code. There is one extra parameter that needs to be added to the embed code for this to work.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the YouTube video you wish to embed.

    • 2

Click "Embed" to display the embed code.

    • 3

Copy the code displayed by pressing "Ctrl"+"C."

    • 4

Navigate to the location where you are going to paste your embed code. Paste the code using "Ctrl"+"V."

    • 5

Locate the "src" value in the embed code. This will be displayed twice with the www.youtube.com.... link in it. Before the quotation marks end, add "&showsearch=0" to the end of the link. This will remove the search bar from the embedded location.
