How to Fix a Necklace Toggle Closure That Is Not Secure
Necklace toggle closures are convenient and simple to use if they're working properly. 3
Grasp the damaged crossbar with your needle-nose pliers and using a flat, hard surface for counterbalance, twist the piece gently until straightened into its proper configuration. Depending on the material for the closure, the crossbar may get twisted or the ring may get bent so they no longer fit into one another.

Test the toggle closure by holding the bar so that it slides straight through the ring. Then, turn the bar so it's perpendicular and the ring stops it from sliding through. Tug gently to ensure the integrity of the metal closure was not compromised with your repairs. If it works, you're done. If not, go to the next step.

Grasp the jump ring from the toggle closure and slide the last ring of the necklace through it. Do this for both the bar and ring side of the toggle closure. Twist the jump ring closed.
