1. Measure the weight of an item in pounds using a scale.

2. Multiply the number of pounds by 2.2 kilograms. For example, if your item weights 50 pounds, you would multiply 50 pounds by 2.2 kilograms per pound to get 110 kilograms.

3. Divide the number of pounds by 0.4545 kilograms per pound to check your answer. Completing the example, you would divide 50 pounds by 0.4545 kilograms per pound to get 110 kilograms.
