How to Upload Pictures for a Nikon D70 (5 Steps)

By Shawn McClain

Although the Nikon D70 is great at capturing images, if you want to edit those images or put them on the Internet, you will need to transfer the pictures from the camera to your computer. Several programs will take the images from your camera and place them on your hard drive. You can also just use a USB cable to connect your camera to the computer, and then use Windows Explorer to move the images over.

Step 1

Turn the dial at the top of the right side of the D70 counterclockwise, which will turn the camera off.

Step 2

Lift the rubber flap located on the left side of the camera, near the bottom of the device, to reveal the miniUSB port. Plug the mini-USB end of the data cable into this port. Plug the other end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer.

Step 3

Turn the dial on the top of your Nikon D70 clockwise to turn the camera on. After a few seconds you will see "PC" appear on your D70s LCD.

Step 4

Click "Import pictures and videos using Windows" from the menu that appears on your screen. It can take up to a minute for this screen to appear.

Step 5

Click "Import Settings" at the bottom of the small Import Pictures window that appears. Click the "Browse" button next to "Import images to" and then select the folder where you want to import your D70's pictures. Click "OK" to close the window and click "Import" to upload the pictures to your computer.
