Directions for Children's Paper Chef Hats

Having your child help you prepare meals and treats in the kitchen allows you to pass on family recipes and teach him about eating healthy and helping out around the house. Get your child excited about helping you cook and bake by making him his own paper chef hat so he feels just like the professionals he might have seen on cooking shows.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut the sheet of heavy printer paper lengthwise into three 2 1/2-inch wide strips. Put the extra strip of paper aside for a later project. Glue the strips together short end to short end. Wrap the strip around the child's head. Trim the strip so the ends overlap by an inch. Glue the ends together.

    • 2

Fold the pieces of tissue paper in half one at a time, short end to short end. Use packaging tape to tape the folded pieces of tissue paper to the inside of the paper circle so the folded tissue paper extends out the top of the circle and the pieces of tissue paper overlap each other slightly.

    • 3

Gather the top edges of the tissue paper, the edges opposite the ones taped inside the paper circle, inside the hat and rubber band them together to form the pieces of tissue paper into the poof of the chef hat.
