Kindergarten is a great place to start learning Spanish.

The ability to speak Spanish as a second language is a real gift for any child and the sooner they start learning, the better. There are a number of fun resources available online to teach young children Spanish that would work well in a kindergarten environment.

Learn 4 Good

1. Visit Learn4good.com and click on "Kids' area" in the navigation menu at the top of the page.

2. Click on "Learn Spanish" in the languages section of the "Kids' corner" menu.

3. Click on the free lessons at the top of the page to access basic teaching resources, which can be used in the very early stages of teaching Spanish to kindergarten students. This is also a good way to experiment with the content provided to establish whether or not you want to invest in a whole course from Learn 4 Good's range of interactive CD-ROMs.

First School

1. Navigate to First-school.ws and click on "First Printable Activities" on the left of the screen.

2. Click on "Alphabet Printable Activities & Games" and then the "Spanish" link in the "Alphabet worksheets and activity program" section around a third of the way down the page.

3. Click on the different alphabet-based activities and then print them off to use with your kindergarten students. These worksheets are a great way to familiarize young children with the alphabet in Spanish by building upon their recently acquired knowledge of the English alphabet.

1. Visit 123teachme.com and click on "Spanish for kids."

2. Review the menu of videos, interactive games and podcasts available for free.

3. Introduce your students to the material you feel they will be most comfortable with. Many of the activities on this site are interactive, so it's good idea to make sure you have adequate computer access for your students prior to using them.
