How to Disable Adobe 10 From Downloading

Adobe Flash Player 10 allows you to view and interact with Flash-based videos, games, and interactive forms on the Internet. Although Flash Player is extremely useful for accessing active web content, receiving constant update notifications from this software can be a nuisance.



Adobe allows users to turn off Flash update notifications and stop it from downloading updates by editing the program's Settings Manager. However, the Flash Global Settings menu is only accessible through published Flash content.

Instructions

1. Open your web browser (such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari) and navigate to the Flash Player website.

2. Right-click the Flash content and select "Global Settings."

3. Click the "Global Notification Settings" link listed under "Settings Manager."

4. Un-check the box to "Notify me when an update to Adobe Flash Player is available."

5. Exit your web browser.
