Bottles and Jars

1
Place home-dried herbs in half-pint or pint-size canning jars, and tag them with the name of the herb and a few suggestions for uses. Be sure to add "From the kitchen of ... " to the label. Place a sticker label on the top or front of the jar, and a tag tied to the rim. Tie natural raffia around the ring of the lid.

2
Cook homemade soups or stews as gifts for guests if you are a hostess, especially during the autumn and winter holiday season. Prepare this ahead of time, pouring it into quart-size canning jars. Make enough to give each guest or family a jar as a gift when they leave the get-together.
List the ingredients on the tag and note that it should be reheated and eaten within a couple of days or placed in the freezer until needed. Place a wooden spoon in between the jar and the raffia.

Wash and store glass bottles that sauces and other foods come in throughout the year. Use these to package homemade oils and vinegars to give as gifts. Create stickers on your computer to place on the jars telling what type of oil or vinegar is in the bottle, how to store it and how long it will last. Tie some dried herbs to the bottle with natural raffia.
Packaging Baked Goods

Bake a variety of homemade breads in mini loaf pans. Wrap them in plastic wrap, or small kitchen towels or napkins, if you expect them to be eaten right away. Place a sticker on each loaf of bread explaining what kind it is and the ingredients used to make it. Place a variety of breads in a basket. Tie curly ribbon to the handles.

5
Purchase individual mini cake pans during after holiday sales or at yard sales to use as gift containers. Make small cakes in them, frost and place in the refrigerator until the frosting hardens a little. Wrap these using plastic wrap, then place a tag and a bow on each.
-
6
Collect and reuse tins throughout the year. Use these to package homemade cookies, candies and brownies. Simply place the homemade goodies, one type or some of each, into the container and cover. Wrap wide ribbon around the container. Add a bow to top.
