How to Install Windows XP Recovery Drive Without a CD
The Windows Recovery Console is a recovery application that allows the user to restore Windows XP back to the default factory settings. The Windows Recovery Console can be started when the computer boots from the Windows Installation CD. If you do not have access to the original CD, it may be possible to reboot without it. Some computer manufacturers place a copy of the installation files in the "i386" folder on the hard drive. If your computer contains this folder, you will be able to reboot into Recovery Console without a CD.
