How to Attach Shipping Tube End Caps

How to Attach Shipping Tube End Caps thumbnail
Standard shipping tubes have plastic end caps.

Shipping tubes come in several shapes and sizes. These tubes are ideal for mailing or transporting large pieces of paper. These can include art pieces, blueprints or other important items. Shipping tube end caps can have threading that allows a user to twist and pull or the caps can simply snap on. Attach shipping tube end caps securely to avoid damage to the contents inside.

Instructions

  1. Standard Tubes

    • 1

Place the smaller side of one of the plastic circular pieces into the shipping tube. Push the end in until it sits flush with the rest of the tube. The lip of the plastic end will sit over the tube.

    • 2

Insert items to be mailed into the tube.

    • 3

Place the other plastic circular piece into the other end of the tube using the same method you used for the first cap. You can then tape or staple these plastic pieces in place to make them more secure. Applying a piece of packing tape over the top of the cap and then encircling side of the tube with tape to cover the edges of the first piece of tape will offer the most protection for the cap.

    Twist and Pull Tubes

    • 4

Place one of the plastic circular pieces into the tube.

    • 5

Twist the cap until you hear it click, indicating that it has locked in place.

    • 6

Put a tamper-proof tab over the lip of the tube where the end of the circular piece has locked into place.
