How to Take Apart a Fender Starcaster

The Fender Starcaster is one of the most popular guitars on the market. This guitar has been around for decades and continues to be produced to this day. Taking apart a Starercaster will take one tool, and putting it back together is a simple as taking it apart. Almost anyone with about 15 minutes of time and a screwdriver can accomplish this task.

Instructions

      Turn the keys at the top of the head to loosen the six strings. Pull the ends of the strings from the small holes on the turner and out from the bridge on the body.

      Turn the Fender Starcaster over so that the rear is facing up. Remove the four screws that connect the neck to the body using the screwdriver. Pull the neck off of the body. Place the neck, square metal mounting plate and screw in a clean, dry place.

      Turn the Fender Starcaster over so that the front is facing up. Remove the five screws that secure the pick guard to the body using the screwdriver. Remove the two screws securing the input to the body. Remove both from the guitar.

      Remove the four screws securing the bridge to the body using the screwdriver. Pull the bridge off.

      Loosen the two screws on each pickup using the screwdriver. Pull the pickups up.

Tips & Warnings

  • The pickups are connected to the Fender Starcaster by wires. To completely remove the pick-ups you will need to cut the wires.
