Wait in hiding and eliminate your opponents from the paintball game one by one.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Practice shooting your paintball gun for accuracy before you play. Get used to the sighting system and range of your paintball gun.

  2. Step 2

Outfit yourself in camouflage that matches the area you are playing in. Carry nothing bright or reflective.

  3. Step 3

Scout a location your opponents must pass through, such as near your flag or along a key access route.

  4. Step 4

Move quickly to your position once the game starts.

  5. Step 5

Be sure you're well hidden, but also that you have an unobstructed shot.

  6. Step 6

Plan your escape route in advance.

  7. Step 7

Make sure your paintball gun is cocked and loaded. If you have to do this when your target is in sight, you may give away your position.

  8. Step 8

Wait silently and remain motionless. Listen to determine the course of the game.

  9. Step 9

Shoot your opponent with a single shot when he or she is within range. If multiple opponents are in site, take the easiest shot first and then keep shooting. You may need to use that escape route now.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hide above or below your opponent's line of sight, such as in a tree or flat on the ground.
  • Pick a position that you can escape from easily in case your position is discovered.
  • Try to take your opponent out in one shot, but if you must, keep shooting. The most important thing is that you take him or her out.
  • Always wear eye protection.
  • Observe proper safety rules for paintball at all times.

on 2/20/2008 If you want to be a sniper, there are a few things to think about. 1- Camo. Its important to be able to hide and no one see you. A lot of people have said "buy a ghile suit" and i say NO! Sure it works great untill... BAM your hit. Now you got a nice bright paintspot on your "camoflauge" clothes. Get a paintball jersey or BDU's AKA fatigues, army clothes, etc. 2- tatics. Move everytime you shoot. However, with most things, there is an exception. If there are 5 guys, and you shoot one, dont move. Once your spotted, they have the same chance of hitting you as you do them. Also stay at the back of your team, not the field. You cant support anyone if your in the back of the field. Another solution is to flank the enemy. Sliently work your way around the enemy and shoot em in the back. You'll suprise the enemy and force them into even more groups, which leads to disorganization, and eventuall

on 2/20/2008 Get a longer barrel for your gun. This will do two things. 1, increase your range. 2, silence your gun. Note: this will not silence your bolt.
Another thing to consider is camo. Don't go out and buy a ghile suit. It may hide you better, but it becomes ineffective once your hit. Note: expect to be shot at least once while your playing paintball.
Move your position frequently. Once you shoot, move. For all you know, the kid you just shot told his friend about you and your location. Also watch for multiple targets. If there are two enemies, consider benefits of taking out one or the other first. Sniping is a patince game too. Don't get up to get closer to a target just so you can shoot him. He has the same chances of hitting you as you do him once you are up and about. When you snipe, dont be at the back of the field. You want to back up your team. Either stay towards the back o

on 4/9/2007 I disagree with those people who left comments before and said that there is no such thing as a paintball sniper. There is, being a sniper doesn't only imply that you shoot from really far away, it can be that you camp in one well covered area and take out the enemy by yourself. It may not be the same as a real sniper but thats why its called "paintball" sniper. And this article pretty much covers what you need to do to be one.

on 1/26/2007 A paintball sniper doesn't exist. A sniper implies long distance shots. First of all, paintballs aren't accurate enough to land a shot from more than 100 ft in the right conditions. Most importantly, a paintball comes out of the barrel at no more than 300 feet per second. This is one of the most highly regulated aspects of the sport right behind proper safety equipment (masks etc.) and off the field safety (barrel plugs/bags).
