Things You'll Need

  • Baking soda

  • Toothbrush

  • Landry detergent

  • Medium bowl

Wash a thong as you would other laundry. Unless the care tag states otherwise, use a washing machine. Baking soda safely removes stains and odors from the fabric. It also brightens the colors. Pre-treating the item with baking soda results in a cleaner thong. Regardless of whether the thong is made from cotton, lace, satin or other material, it needs washed after each wear. Washing it with similar items is most efficient.
