How to Remove a Corolla's Trunk Liner

The trunk liner in a Toyota Corolla is designed to protect the cargo from the hard, steel trunk floor. The trunk liner also creates friction between the trunk floor and the cargo, preventing it from sliding around inside the trunk. In order to access the spare tire and tail lamps, this trunk liner must be removed. This liner can also become damaged from spills or dirty cargo, necessitating its replacement. Replacement trunk liners are available from licensed Toyota dealerships.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the ignition to the "OFF" position and shift the Corolla's transmission into park or first gear (manual). Set the parking brake and open the trunk.

    • 2

Remove the cargo net from the trunk and unscrew the cargo net hooks.

    • 3

Pull the trunk liner out of the gap from between the backseat and the roof of the trunk. Grip the trunk liner with both hands and pull it the remainder of the way out of the trunk.
