How to Add a Data Plan to the AT&T GoPhone

Add a data plan to your AT&T GoPhone to enable you to send and receive messages.

A GoPhone is a prepaid phone offered through AT&T that allows users to purchase a pre-determined number of minutes and data for their device. In the event that you want SMS (Short Message Service) or MMS (Multimedia Message Service), or if you want to surf the Internet, you will need to add a data plan to your GoPhone. Adding a data plan to your device is easy to accomplish online.

Instructions

1. Visit the AT&T GoPhone account management page (see Resources).

2. Enter your wireless phone number followed by your mobile phone PIN number. The PIN number is the password that came with your phone.

3. Click the tab "Rate Plan" followed by "Add Feature."

4. Select the data package that you want to add to your phone and click the link "Add to Plan."

5. Click "Submit" to add the data plan to your GoPhone.

Tips & Warnings

• If you misplaced your PIN number, contact the AT&T customer service department by dialing "611" on your phone to inquire about your PIN number.
