How to Put a Nonported Barrel in a Glock 19C
Glock manufactures its C-model pistols with two slots cut into the top of the barrel and the upper receiver. The purpose of the slots is to divert gases upward when the weapon is fired, which pushes the pistol downward to compensate for recoil. Glock develop this technology primarily to keep the weapon on target during rapid-fire shooting. The disadvantage of the system is that you have muzzle flash coming from the top of your weapon, which may be distracting. You can remedy this easily by replacing the compensated barrel with a standard barrel.

2
Grasp the top of the pistol with one hand and pull down the slide-locks -- located on each side of the lower receiver above the trigger -- with your other hand.

-
3
Pull the slide back approximately 1/10 inch and then immediately push the slide forward, separating the slide assembly from the lower receiver.

Tips & Warnings
Be absolutely sure that you are replacing the compensated barrel with a standard barrel for the same model of Glock pistol. For example, if replacing a barrel for a Glock model 31C, you must use a standard barrel for a model Glock model 31.
