Outlook Calendar Synchronization Failed
The "Outlook Calendar Synchronization Failed" error usually appears on Palm devices -- such as a Treo, a Tungsten or another device -- that are synchronizing with Outlook. These errors always start with "OLERR:," followed by a two-digit number, a hyphen and then a four-digit hexadecimal number, such as "OLERR:11-000A." These errors can be caused by a wide variety of issues, so there are a number of possible solutions. Try each one until your error is resolved.
Instructions

1
Install the PIM Support Update at the Palm site if you are using a Tungsten T3, E or T5; a Zire 31 or 72; or a Treo 650 device. This update, which is also known as Outlook Conduit for Palm Update, resolves synchronization errors for many users of these devices.

2
Use Outlook's "Detect and Repair" or "Office Diagnostics" feature to automatically repair software issues. You will see one of these options in Outlook under the "Help" menu, depending upon your version of Outlook. Click on "Help," select your option, and follow the instructions that are provided.

3
Delete your offline records if you connect to an Exchange server. Do not attempt this procedure if you always store your events offline (locally). Click on "Calendar" in Outlook, then open the "File" menu. Select "Folder," and select Properties for the calendar. Click on the General tab, then click the "Clear Offline Folders" button. If your calendar items disappear, restore them from the Exchange server later. Perform a HotSync synchronization to confirm that the issue is resolved first. If so, click "Tools," select "Send/Receive," then click "Send/Receive All" to restore your calendar data from the Exchange server.

4
Include an end date for recurring events that you have set up. Go to the calendar in Outlook, then click on "View" and "Calendar View." You may need to click on "View," "Arrange by" and "Current View" in older versions of Outlook. Write down the information about your current view, such as "Day/Week/Month." Click on "Recurring Appointments." Your recurring appointments will be displayed in the Calendar pane. Click on the "Recurring Range End" column. Scroll through the list until you see the events that are marked as "No End." Open each event and give it an end date. You can use a date far in the future, such as 2040.
-
5
Delete events that span midnight, such as an event that starts at 8:00 a.m. on Monday and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. You can either break the event into two separate events (one on Monday and one on Tuesday in this example) or end the event at 11:59 on the first day. Review your Outlook calendar to identify and fix these events.
-
6
Try to reestablish the link between Palm Outlook Conduits and default Outlook folders. Restart your PC, but do not launch Outlook. Click on the "Start" menu in the lower-left corner of your desktop, select "Run" and type "outlook /resetfolders" (with a space after "outlook"). Outlook will open, and you can run a HotSync operation.
-
7
Use a third-party synchronization tool, such as PocketMirror Pro XT or Live PIM. Download the software from the Web, install it and synchronize.

Tips & Warnings
Try each of these solutions one by one, then run a HotSync operation after each one. Review your HotSync log to determine if the OLERR error appears. If it does not, you have resolved the issue and you do not need to try any of the other solutions listed above.
