How to Repair DocX

DOCX files are used by Microsoft Word and were introduced with the release of Microsoft Office 2007. There are a number of reasons why your DOCX files may become damaged, including software crashes, improper shutdown of your computer or files not transferring correctly from computer to computer. Whatever the cause, there is hope if you have files to repair. Microsoft Word comes with a repair feature you can utilize to attempt to repair your DOCX files.

Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Word.

2. Go to "File" and "Open." This opens the "File Open" dialog box.

3. Locate the corrupt Microsoft Word DOCX file that needs to be repaired and highlight it.

4. Look to the bottom right of the "File Open" dialog box for the "Open" button. Click the down arrow next to it and select "Open and Repair." A box will immediately ask you to choose an option.

5. Select "Repair." At this point Microsoft Word will go ahead and attempt to repair your corrupted file.
