How to Paint the Toenails in a Zebra Pattern

The next time you want to give yourself a quick makeover, try doing a funky zebra print pedicure on your feet. A zebra print toenail design will add a splash of fun and style to your appearance when you wear sandals or open-toe shoes. A do-it-yourself technique will provide you with professional-looking results without the expensive price of going to a salon. Your nail design will be ready in no time. This technique can be used on the fingernails as well.

Things You'll Need

• Cotton balls
• Nail polish remover
• Base coat
• Paintbrush
• White nail polish
• Nail paint brush
• Black nail polish
• Clear nail polish

Instructions

1. Remove any old nail polish from toenails using a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover.

2. Apply a thin layer of base coat to the toenails.

3. Allow at least 10 minutes for the base coat to dry completely.

4. Apply a thin, even coat of white nail polish to the toenails. After the polish has dried completely, apply a second layer of white nail polish and let it dry for at least 15 minutes.

5. Dip a nail paintbrush into an opened bottle of black nail polish.

6. Draw five thin black lines across the surface of the nails using the nail paintbrush. Use small strokes.

7. Allow enough time for the black stripes to dry.

8. Apply one layer of clear nail polish to the toes. This will seal the zebra print design onto the toenails.

Tips & Warnings

• To achieve a different final appearance, substitute the white nail polish with a different nail polish color.

• To ensure a longer-lasting application, do not apply polish to the toes before removing all dirt and oil from the feet.
