How Can I Get My Money Fast in My PayPal Account? thumbnail
Get PayPal money fast at an ATM.

If you have a PayPal account, you know how convenient it is to receive payments from your personal website or for items or services you sell over the Internet. Once those deposits have reached your PayPal account, you can transfer money to your bank account electronically or request a check. However, electronic transfer takes three to four business days, and a check takes one to two weeks. To get your money much faster, apply for and use a PayPal debit card.

Instructions

    • 1

Apply for a PayPal debit card. Go to the PayPal link in Resources. Then enter your email address and password. Click "Log In" to continue the application process. Read the Debit Card Agreement carefully to learn about fees and other restrictions on your debit card. Once you have completed the application, your card should arrive in four weeks or less.

Use your PayPal debit card to get up to $400.00 cash daily. Take it to an ATM that accepts Maestro-Cirrus, insert the card, and enter your pin number. Select "checking account" if asked to choose an option. Enter the amount, leaving enough in your account to cover fees unless you want to use backup funding already linked to your account. You will pay a $1.00 fee for each withdrawal plus the ATM owner's fee. You will also pay a 1 percent fee to use a foreign ATM and $3.00 for any cash withdrawal requiring a signature.

Use your debit card to make a purchase from anyone who accepts MasterCard, either in bricks-and-mortar stores or online. You can spend up to $3,000 daily from your PayPal account.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the link in the Resources section to apply for a PayPal MasterCard to use as backup when your PayPal balance falls short. You will earn points wherever you use it, with double points for PayPal and eBay purchases and triple points for gas station and restaurant use.

  • If you use PayPal with a foreign currency, remember that PayPal charges a fee of 2.25 percent when they make the currency conversion. PayPal also sets the exchange rate based on market rates at the time.
