Instructions

    • 1

Remove tea bags from the box they came in and transfer them to an airtight container, such as a jar or plastic food storage container.

    • 2

Place open bags of loose tea in a self-sealing food storage bag and seal it closed. Place the bag of tea into an airtight container.

    • 3

Label the container with the contents, such as tea variety, and the date stored.

    • 4

Place the container of tea in a cool, dark pantry. Avoid placing it near strong-smelling spices or food, as tea can absorb odors, especially if it's stored in more porous plastic.

    • 5

Store black tea for up to two years. Store green tea and other delicate teas for no more than six months.

Tips & Warnings

  • Only store one variety of tea in each container, otherwise the different teas will absorb each other's aroma and flavor.
