Vacuum packing foods is a method of packaging foods in airtight plastic and removing the air from inside the bag before it is sealed. Place your food item into the bags provided with your vacuum packaging machine. Make sure as little excess moisture as possible is in the bag.

    • 2

Place the open end of the bag into the bag insertion area on the vacuum packaging machine.

    • 3

Press the vacuum button and hold the bag still. Allow the machine to suck the air out of the bag and seal it. Most vacuum machines will automatically heat seal the bag once the bag has reached .15 bar. Some machines may continue to pump until you press the seal button.

Store the vacuum-packed food in the same manner as you would if the food was not vacuum packed. Keep meats and cheeses in the fridge, biscuits on the shelf and freezer items in the freezer. Not doing so may increase the chances of bacteria growing.
