How to Clean a Rival Deep Fryer
Rival deep fryers can be ideal for making restaurant-quality fried foods in your own kitchen. Along with deep frying comes grease, which can leave quite a mess on the inside and outside of your deep fryer. It is important to periodically clean your Rival deep fryer to remove excess grease that can interfere with the quality of your food. Turn the deep fryer to "Off" and unplug the deep fryer from the wall outlet. Disconnect the breakaway cord from the deep fryer. Let the deep fryer cool completely before cleaning.

Wipe down the exterior of the fryer and the lid with a damp rag that is moistened with water. Make sure to clean around the buttons and exterior handle.

Remove the fryer basket from the deep fryer. Wash the basket in hot, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry.

Discard the oil from inside the deep fryer. Wipe out the inside of the fryer with paper towels to get rid of excess grease.

Wash the inside of the deep fryer with a rag and hot, soapy water. Rinse the inside with a clean rag and plain water. Dry the interior of the deep fryer thoroughly.

Tips & Warnings
Rival manufactures several models of deep fryers. Some deep fryers contain parts that are dishwasher-safe. Refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions on cleaning the model you own.
Never submerge the fryer unit in water nor wash it under running water. Submerging the electrical components of the deep fryer can cause electrocution, as well as damage to the fryer.
The exterior of your Rival deep fryer should be cleaned after each use; however, the inside only needs to be cleaned when you change the oil. The oil in your fryer can be stored inside of the deep fryer for up to three months.
