How to Use MSN Messenger Online

MSN Messenger is an easy-to-use instant messaging program that allows you to stay in touch with friends, relatives and clients no matter their location. The program's features work best when downloaded onto your PC or Mac as a program. However, you can also access MSN Messenger from any web browser as long as you know your screen name and password.

Instructions

1. Point your web browser to the MSN Messenger website (see Resources).

2. Sign in with your Windows Live screen name and password.

3. Find your MSN Messenger contacts by clicking on the "Messenger" link on the top of the website. A drop-down box will come up showing all of your MSN contacts and their online status. Online friends are shown with a green square next to their screen names while offline friends have a red square.

4. Click on the screen name of the friend you'd like to chat with. A dialog box will open allowing you to initiate a instant message conversation.
