Iced coffee is a refreshing way to enjoy coffee on a hot day. You can flavor it, add regular cream or whipped cream, and turn it into a tasty dessert. Specialty coffee shops and restaurants offer iced coffee in a variety of flavors, sizes and prices, but it only takes a few steps at home to turn your regular coffee into an icy treat. Things You'll Need

  • Ground coffee
  • 12-cup coffee maker
  • Plastic 2-liter pitcher
  • Flavored syrup
  • Tall glass

Instructions

    • 1

      Make a pot of coffee, using 5 tbsp. of your favorite ground coffee.

      Fill a plastic 2-liter pitcher with ice and slowly pour the coffee in.

    • 3

      Fill a tall glass with ice, pour the coffee into the glass, and add flavored syrup. Consult the bottle of syrup to see how much you should add per ounce.

      Add milk, cream or sugar if you like and stir. Store the pitcher in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

Tips & Warnings

  • You need to make the coffee stronger than usual because it will melt some of the ice in the pitcher, diluting the potency.

  • You can purchase flavored coffee syrup at most places that sell coffee.
