How to Show Subtitles in a Zoom Player
While audio, video and subtitles may all be stored in one file on a DVD, many computer media players require the subtitle track to be store in a separate, subtitle text-based file. Media players read both the subtitle and video files at the same time, overlaying the subtitle text on the video according to the subtitle file's time code. And while Zoom Player supports subtitle tracks, you will need to make a few adjustments to the program in order to stream the subtitles with your video files.

1
Download and install a free copy of the DirectVobsub filter to equip Zoom Player with the ability to play back subtitles (see Resources).
-
2
Copy your subtitle file(s) into the same folder containing the related video file. Right-click on the video file and select "Rename" in the pop-up menu that appears.

3
Copy the video's name--don't include extensions, such as ".AVI," ".MPG" or ".WMV," for example. Right-click on the subtitle track's icon and rename the file--paste the text your copied from the video file. Preserve the subtitle track's ".SRT" extension when renaming the file.
