How to Add Movies to Zune

How to Add Movies to Zune thumbnail
You can watch your favorite movies or videos on the Zune while on the go.

The Zune, a multimedia player created by Microsoft, allows you to listen to music and radio stations on the go. Even better, you can also use the Zune as a portable video player. Microsoft has even streamlined the process of adding videos through its Zune software, and in a few simple steps, you too can enjoy your favorite movies and videos on your Zune.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Convert movie files into WMV or MP4 format. The Zune only recognizes these two video formats. The Zune software does not include a video converter, so you will have to download a converter to convert any videos. Thankfully, many of these converters are free to use (see Resources).

    • 2

Connect your Zune to your computer using either the sync cable provided with your Zune or a purchased Zune dock. Wait until the computer recognizes the Zune.

    • 3

Start the Zune software on your PC and click "Settings," then "Software." Click on "Collection" and then on "Add Folder" to select the folder where your videos are located. This will add all of the videos in the folder to your Zune's library. Return to the main window once you are done.

    • 4

Click "Settings," then "Device" and then "Sync Options." Select "All" if you would like to sync your entire Zune library along with the added videos. Select "Manual Sync" to add video files without syncing your entire Zune. Drag your desired video to the player icon to do so. The syncing process will start immediately.
