Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect your iPod from your computer and plug it into a main power supply to charge the battery completely.

    • 2

Test the connection you are using on your computer with a working device. If the device doesn't work when you connect it to the computer, then you have a problem with your ports not with the iPod.

    • 3

Unplug you iPod from the charger when the battery is full, and connect it with the iPod cable to a different computer. This is a second method of determining whether the fault is in your iPod or computer ports.

    • 4

Reset your iPod by pushing a pin into the tiny reset hole along the edge of the iPod. Depending on your model of iPod, the location of the hole will vary but is usually on the top near the jacks.

    • 5

Close all of your running applications and shut down the computer. Restart the computer and wait for it to start up completely.

    • 6

Connect the iPod to the computer and wait for it to load. If it doesn't show up, replace the cable with a brand new one.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can take your iPod to an Apple store to have them test it on secure and stable devices.

  • Do not use your iPod with an exposed or split wire.
