How to Install XAMPP on Windows XP
XAMPP is an open-source software package that consists of an Apache web server, MySQL server, mail server and several other software programs that are commonly used in hosting websites and other Web applications. XAMPP is designed to be easy to set up on a Windows computer so that you can either test out websites that you want to host or you can host websites from your Windows machine without having to set up IIS.

Open your Web browser in Windows XP and go to the XAMPP download page (see Resources).

Click the "Download" link and download the installation file for XAMPP to your computer.

Double-click the installation file to bring up the automatic installer.

Click "Install" to install XAMPP onto your computer.
