The Verizon DSL Actiontec MI424-WR is a router/modem that you use to connect one or more computers to your DSL connection to the Internet. It supports ethernet and Wi-Fi networking, enabling you to set up a wired or wireless network of computers. Its security features include a customizable firewall, content filtering, intrusion detection and denial of service protection. If the Actiontec MI424-WR doesn't work properly, you can reset it.

      Press the "Power" switch on to turn on the Verizon DSL Actiontec MI424-WR router/modem.

      Press the "Reset" button and hold it for about 10 seconds.

      Release the button, and the Actiontec MI424-WR will start the reset process about 10 seconds after you release the button. All the lights on the front panel will turn off, then some will start flashing. You will know that the reset process is finished when the "Power" light glows a steady green.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't unplug the power cord from the Actiontec MI424-WR during the reset process. Doing so may erase its configuration information, which can be restored by resetting it again.
