How to Convert Splenda Measurements to Sugar

How to Convert Splenda Measurements to Sugar thumbnail
Dieters use Splenda instead of sugar to reduce calories.

Before replacing sugar with no-calorie Splenda, consider the purpose of sugar in the recipe. Regular Splenda Granulated provides sweetness, yet it doesn't do some of the other things sugar does. In some recipes, sugar adds texture and color to the final product as well as providing a sweet flavor. If the recipe needs the sugar to help prevent moisture loss and add volume, use Splenda Sugar Blend, a combination of sugar and Splenda that sweetens, adds volume and helps to retain moisture. While it is not calorie free, it is lower in calories than regular sugar. Does this Spark an idea?
