Place the saddle on a sturdy saddle stand or rack.

Position the measuring tape on the silver disk at the front of the English saddle. For a western saddle, place the measuring tape just behind the saddle horn.

Extend the measuring tape to the back of the saddle seat and take your measurement. This is the seat size of the saddle.
