How to Troubleshoot a Bose Audio Stereo
Bose makes a variety of audio stereos including the Bose Acoustic Wave music system. This system includes a CD player, an AM/FM radio tuner with five presets for setting your favorite radio stations, and a remote control in a small integrated package. The Bose Acoustic Wave music system provides everything you need for listening to music at home or on the go. Occasionally, your Bose system may not work as usual. Try some tips for troubleshooting. System Will Not Work

Check that the Bose system power cord is fully seated in the electrical wall outlet and the Bose system.

Check your house's fuse box for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breakers if necessary.

Make sure that your batteries are working or that you are using the correct DC power cord when playing your Bose system on the go.

Check how many times your Bose system has played a CD in REPEAT DISC or REPEAT DISC RANDOM mode. The Bose system will only repeat a CD three times in these modes before automatically shutting off when using batteries. Check how many times a CD track has played in REPEAT TRACK mode. The Bose system will repeat a CD track eight times when using battery power before automatically shutting off to save power.

Check that you have inserted external sound components correctly into the AUX inputs. Red jack inserts on the sound components go into the red AUX inputs; yellow jack inserts go into the yellow AUX inputs.
Poor FM Reception

Move any electronic device that can interfere with FM reception away from your Bose system. These can include cell phones, modems or kitchen appliances.

Contact Bose customer service to add an external FM antenna to your Bose system.

If you decide not to use an external antenna or it is not connected, make sure the switch is set to "Telescoping Antenna."
No Remote Control

Try turning on the Bose system manually to ensure that it has power. If it does not turn on manually, follow the steps in Section 1.

Return the system to regular AC power if it is set on battery or DC power.

Change the batteries in the remote control by inserting the tip of a ballpoint pen into the slot on the back of the remote control and pressing the pen to the side. Pull down on the battery compartment door, remove the battery and replace it with a lithium CR2032 or DL2032 battery with the "+" side facing up.
CD Will Not Play

Ensure that the CD is inserted into the player with the label side facing up.

Check that the CD compartment is closed completely.

Clean the underside of your CD with a dry microfiber cloth, using a straight motion from the CD's center to its edge.
