How to Make a Beaded Spiral Suncatcher
Suncatchers make a great home decor piece when you are looking to add a little color to a room as well as something that will highlight the natural light flooding the space. Store-bought suncatchers are nice, but the best way to find a suncatcher that is a good match for your pre-existing decor is to make it yourself. Make your own beaded suncatcher for an elegant addition to any space that needs a pop of color.

1
Cut a piece of memory wire that contains five coils, using your wire cutters. Turn one end of the wire in a loop with your round-nose pliers.

2
Open the jump ring with the needle-nose pliers by sticking the tip of the pliers through the ring and prying open the ring. You need to open the ring only a little. Slide the ring through the loop you created at the end of the memory wire. Pinch the jump ring closed with the needle-nose pliers.

Begin threading your beads onto the memory wire. Thread sections a few inches long with seed beads, mixing in a few different shapes of seed beads as well as oval glass drop beads along the way. Break up the sections of seed beads with larger round glass beads. Continue beading the wire in this manner until only about 1/4 of an inch of wire is left.

4
Create a loop with the round-nose pliers at the end of the wire once it is completely beaded. Hang the beaded suncatcher with fishing line threaded through the jump ring and tied at the ends to create a loop. Hang the suncatcher somewhere with a decent amount of sunlight and watch all the wonderful colors appear as the light filters through the colorful beads and the suncatcher twists and twirls in the breeze.
