How to Use PFB Fonts

Most of the fonts on a Windows or a Mac computer are in the TrueType or OpenType format and will work within just about any application on either platform. Printer Font Binary (PFB) format, on the other hand, is a storage format for use with Adobe Type 1 font programs. The PFB format might not work with all of the applications on your computer. If you are having trouble using PFB fonts, you can download and use the free application, Adobe Type Manger, which will resolve the issue.

Instructions

    • 1

Donwload and install Adobe Type Manager. (See Resources)

    • 2

      Launch Adobe Type Manger.

    • 3

Use the drop-down menu in the right panel to navigate to the location of your PFB fonts. Click on a font name to select it, or hold down the "shift" key to select multiple fonts at once. Click "Add." If you selected multiple fonts, click "Use New for All."
