Instructions

    • 1

Choose a large bowl and teacup to use for this craft. As you will be using hot glue on the items to make a pedestal, they should not be dishes that are important to you. Shop a thrift store or dollar store to find inexpensive components.

    • 2

Place the large bowl on the workspace in front of you bottom side up. Dab hot glue on the bottom of the bowl. Set a teacup on the bottom of the bowl right side up.

    • 3

Center the cup's bottom over the bottom of the bowl. Allow the glue to dry for one minute before turning the bowl right side up.

    • 4

Soak a floral foam circle in a shallow pan for about 10 minutes. Dab a little hot glue in the bottom of the bowl. Remove the foam circle from the shallow pan and fit it inside the bowl.

    • 5

Trim the ends of your roses with sharp scissors leaving stems 4 inches long. Remove all the rose leaves except for on four flowers.

    • 6

Poke the roses into the wet foam starting in the center and working outwards in a circle. Use the four flowers with the leaves still attached on the outside edges of the arrangement to give some green color.

    • 7

Place the arrangement in the center of the tabletop. To protect a wooden surface from scratching, lay a table runner or tablecloth on the top first.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a larger arrangement use a larger bowl and substitute the teacup with a medium-sized bowl.

  • Make your tabletop centerpiece more dramatic by using bold red bowls and contrast them with white or pink roses.
